Cool greens on a sultry day.

Guppy Farm was muddy and very walkable today.  Mild temperatures help to get one outside.

Met Dr. Greg McGee with his students from ESF today on the trails at Guppy.  He brings students for a variety of programs using this great resource.  Today's group consisted of grad students who would in turn lead freshman groups next week on the property.

How irresponsible can someone be?  We walked up to the top of the steps at Guppy Farm and were greeted by this area which had been someone's fire pit.  With the recent dry weather one stray spark could've resulted in a huge fire on this hillside.  What were these people thinking?

It was a trout lily kind of day. I don't think I have ever seen so many at Guppy Farm.

Beautiful day to be walking through the woods. Lots of wet places but late winter days don't get better than this.

We walked through the Guppy Farm today. The falls were crashing down. The trails were a tad muddy. Winter will come. White snow clinging to the moss on downed trees gave some color to the forest floor.

Another walk in the woods today. We noticed tree damage from the winds of Thursday night at Guppy area. A light dusting of snow certainly makes it feel and look more like December. There was a hunter walking in as we left. I believe rabbit and squirrel season never close.

Gun season for deer is done! It was nice to get out and walk in the woods again. Lots of green on the forest floor from ferns and moss.

All of the wet weather of late has created a plethora of fungi. We saw tan, red, white and these yellow fungi at Guppy Falls.

Very quiet today at Guppy. So many fungi growing on the forest floor. I saw a few giant puffballs.

Saw this amazing dragonfly along the Guppy Trail.

Nice walk after dinner last night along the Guppy Trail. Just us and the deer flies. Water levels are low. Lots of Indian Pipes along the trail.

A great day for viewing the violets growing along the Guppy Farm Trail.

Beautiful day to be outside, the sky couldn't be clearer. The Guppy Farm was very quiet although I met a man named Brian who had something to do with the original acquisition of the property. He had snowshoed over from Baltimore Woods after acquiring the permission from the land owners in between Baltimore Woods and the Skaneateles Conservation Areas.
