On Saturday a bunch of workers from the conservation area committee helped to cut down invasive species such as buckthorn, daphne, and honeysuckle. We also rerouted the trail around the fallen tree on the trail up to Guppy Falls. Also on the trail are these witch hazels blooming now.
I'm glad to see that there is concern about the invasive species at the conservation area. I do a lot of hiking there and have noticed that the European buckthorn has nearly taken over many areas. I've been busy this summer removing it from our own woods and would be happy to help reduce some of it at the conservation area if you need help.
